On 1st October 2025, Divergently Together hosted ‘Accessible Communication as a Skillful and Creative Practice’, a workshop day for public sector workers and policymakers to rethink accessibility as a powerful creative skill that strengthens engagement with diverse communities. The event brought together neurodivergent participants, expert facilitators and government representatives to co-develop inclusive communication strategies vital for a just climate transition.
The event reimagined accessible communication not as a box-ticking exercise, but as a powerful, creative skill with the potential to transform how we connect with diverse audiences. Together, we explored dynamic and imaginative approaches that move beyond compliance—empowering participants to think differently about how messages are shaped, shared, and understood. By framing accessibility as a creative and skillful practice, we lay the groundwork for communication that is not only inclusive but also exciting and engaging.
This shift in understanding is essential to a just transition—one that is truly informed by the voices, needs, and experiences of all members of our communities.
